Announcement
The Visitors’ Lobby, where exhibits open to the public are located, will close for 18 months on 31 May 2013 as part of the renovation of the General Assembly Building. Exhibits will be displayed in the  Library   Building  where a Visitors’ Center will be operational until August 2014.  Only visitors having purchased online a UN guided tour ticket will be allowed to access the Visitors’ Center.

Description 

A multi-media exhibition that presents 20 years of campaigning for a world free of the danger of landmines and other explosive remnants of war.

This exhibit is organized in connection with Mine Action Day (4 April) by  Handicap International, Medico International, Solidarity Service International (SODI), and the Federal Foreign Ministry of Germany. Endorsed by the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS) and the Permanent Mission  of  Germany  to the United Nations.

Oceans

Description

This photo exhibit highlights the ecological and economic importance of healthy oceans. Although a large percentage of the ocean is polluted and fish stocks face depletion, the exhibit shows that sustainable solutions exist and that oceans respond to conservation/preservation efforts.
